It’s not often that I write a song that tells a story. Sure, I’ve written plenty of social story songs for my music therapy students and classrooms, but this is one of few that has a real plot line. And what’s funny is that each of the songs that fits into this category is about a non-human (pumpkins in one case and a snowman in the other).
The trend continues in The Ballad of Kitty, which stars a heroic cat and courageous bat. I told the story of how this song — which was commissioned by educator (and Listen & Learn Plus! member) Rene — came to be in yesterday’s blog post, which you can read here.
