I asked for a juicer the Christmas after my son was born. I had started working out again, and wanted to be healthier in general. I figured that juicing would be an easy way to add more vegetables to my diet.
That juicer got a LOT of use for about a year…until I was well into my second pregnancy and getting ready to move into a new house. I kind of forgot about it until this past summer, when I finally pulled it out of the cabinet and used it for the first time in forever.
The actual process of making green juice — picking out the ingredients, putting them through the juicer, and watching them turn into liquid — is actually really fun. But the cleanup? Not so much.
Despite the mess and labor involved afterwards, I continued drinking green juice on a pretty regular basis throughout the summer and fall. I loved the way it tasted and the way it made me feel afterwards, both physically and mentally.
And then just a couple of weeks ago, one of my favorite podcasters mentioned that she swears by Organifi (not an affiliate link), which is a green juice in powdered form that you mix into a glass of water. It actually contains many more healthy ingredients than I was using in my homemade green juice, and there is no prep or cleanup.
It wasn’t cheap, but I decided to give it a try based on her recommendation and everything that I read online. I’m so glad I did, because now green juice is a part of my everyday routine.
I feel so healthy and fresh every morning, and much less tired by the end of the day than I used to. It even has me craving more healthy foods, so in addition, I’ve been making green smoothies and spinach salads almost every day.
I’m NOT a health nut by any stretch, but I’ve definitely moved farther in that direction than ever and become more healthy overall thanks to my green juice.
