Listen & Learn Plus FAQ

Listen & Learn Plus: Goal-Based Songs and Music Resources for Children

During this waitlist period, I’ve received countless emails and messages full of wonderful questions all about the ins and outs of Listen & Learn Plus. That’s why I put together this FAQ: to provide you with the answers that will hopefully help you make the decision to join once enrollment opens again.

And if you still have questions, or want to chat with me to make sure the membership is a good fit for you? I invite you to reach me directly via email, rachel@listenlearnmusic.com. Now, on to the FAQ!

Who is Listen & Learn Plus for?

One of the most common misconceptions is that the membership is only designed for music therapists. That is definitely not the case! Although I am a music therapist and so are many of the members, there are also plenty of other professionals — preschool teachers, early childhood educators, special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, classroom & music teachers — in our community.

Additionally, we have a good number of parents who simply want to provide educational and meaningful music experiences to their children as members.

What kinds of materials are included?

Just about every song I’ve ever written — and there are well over 200 of them, now — is available to you as a member of Listen & Learn Plus. I add several new songs each month, and those are yours as well. Along with the mp3 recording, there is also a lead sheet (some are notated, some are simply lyrics/chords) and instrumental track for almost every song.

I have also recently begun creating facilitation guides for each song in the collection. Facilitation guides feature a quick link to the mp3, lead sheet, and instrumental track for a song, and then provide all of the important information you need in order to best utilize it in your work.

Another new feature of Listen & Learn Plus is monthly session plans. Each month, I create a cohesive 10-12 song plan that also complements any seasonal or holiday theme for that month. I want to make sure there is plenty of opportunity for fine and gross motor movement, verbal exchanges, social interaction (if working in a group setting), and lots of room for student and client input. These session plans can be used for music therapy, early childhood groups, classrooms, and anywhere else you use music to help children learn and grow. They address a variety of goal areas, utilize all kinds of instruments, and encourage creativity.

The most recent addition to the membership is a comprehensive and searchable song directory. This is a quick way to see an overview of the Listen & Learn Music song collection, including primary and secondary goals, equipment needed, and convenient links to all song materials.

How do I access the materials?

When you join Listen & Learn Plus, you receive access to the membership portal, which contains links to all materials. Additionally, you’ll be invited to join the Dropbox folder where all materials are stored. Inside this folder, you can browse and download what you need at your convenience. You’ll receive occasional updates when new materials are added.

Members are also welcome to email me at any time when in search of specific song topics or materials that address specific goals and objectives. I’m here to help in any way I can as you plan your sessions, lessons, groups and classes.

How much does it cost to join Listen & Learn Plus?

There are two membership options: Standard and VIP.

As a Standard member, you pay $27/month in order to access all of the materials inside of the membership portal except the CMTE courses (those are available to you as additional purchases).

As a VIP member, you pay $247/year for the same access as Standard members. When you pay the entire yearly cost up front, you save over $75 compared to the monthly plan.

The cost to join as a new member increases each year. However, once you join, your locked-in rate will NEVER increase.

You can pay for your membership safely and securely using either PayPal or credit card.

Is there a minimum length of time for for which I have to be a member?

When you sign up as a VIP member, you pay for the entire year in full up front. One month before your annual renewal, you’ll receive an email reminder, at which time you can decide whether or not to continue your membership for the following year.

As a Standard member, you pay on a monthly basis. There is no minimum monthly obligation; you may continue your membership for as short or long a period of time as you wish. If and when you decide to discontinue your membership, simply email me and I will take care of that for you.

I have more questions that you didn’t answer here.

No problem! Simply email me (rachel@listenlearnmusic.com) and I’ll answer any other questions you may have.
