“Dual Roles as a Music Therapist Mom”
Episode 56
In this episode, I’m talking with Tamara Leszner-Rovet, a registered music therapist in Toronto, Canada. Tamara shares her experience so far as a music therapist and mom whose son is currently going through the diagnostic process and receiving therapy services.

Dual Roles as a Music Therapist MomTamara began learning piano at the tender age of 3. Growing up, she received many awards and scholarships for her piano performances. Aspiring to be a concert pianist, she received her Associateship of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) and became a Registered Music Teacher (RMT). She has taught piano to children, adolescents, adults, and to individuals with special needs since 1998.

As Tamara developed a strong passion for teaching, she discovered the career of Music Therapy – a career where she could share her love of music and performing while being able to help individuals enhance their quality of life. She received her Honours Bachelor of Music Therapy Degree (BMT) from the University of Windsor, and is an Accredited Music Therapist (MTA). Most recently, Tamara became a certified Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) by The Robert F. Unkefer Academy for Neurologic Music Therapy and is also a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Tamara’s energy, passion, dedication, and enthusiasm shines through with everyone she works with, and it is her goal for all students and clients to have an enriching and rewarding musical experience that lasts a lifetime.
