23 Days of Gratitude | Day 23 - Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Today is the culmination of 22 daily expressions of gratitude, and it is only fitting that my final post focuses on my inspiration for this series.

There will be plenty of turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie today, but most importantly, I’ll be surrounded by family. I’m grateful that Thanksgiving gives me the opportunity to celebrate the very best part of my life.

My Thanksgiving is off to a lazy and quiet start, since two out of four of us are still asleep. Parker and I are getting ready to make the pumpkin cookies I told you about yesterday, and then we’ll watch some of the parade before heading to my parents’ house.

Today is a day to reflect on all of our blessings, and I feel very warmed up since I’ve been doing that all month! When I was younger, there were a few years where I insisted that everyone at the dinner table name something he or she is thankful for.

I will resist this year, but I did just ask Parker out of curiosity. His adorable 4-year-old response? “I’m thankful for grandma! And the world, and everyone. And berries…red berries.”

I sincerely hope that you have many, many things for which to be thankful on this day, and every day. Have a wonderful holiday!
