Merry Christmas! I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday spent with friends and family, along with a little relaxation as well.
As for me, this holiday season has been a…memorable one. Over the years, I’ve had a knack for getting sick right before Christmas, and apparently, I have passed that on to my children.
We kicked off the week before Christmas with an ear infection diagnosis for my son Parker, and then Mia Belle got the same diagnosis a few short days later.
Next, I came down with yet another case of laryngitis the very night we were hosting our big annual holiday party. Needless to say, I was not the most social person in attendance that night.
That laryngitis quickly turned into a painful sinus infection, which made for an uncomfortable Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But despite all the illness, we managed to enjoy the holidays and time with our loved ones.
My husband gifted me with beautiful framed drawings of Parker and Mia Belle (done by a professional…not him!) and my gift to him was a video featuring our kids, since he requested something “homemade” this year.
I was happily surprised that both kids were able to keep our video a secret up until Christmas morning, and we had so much fun showing it to Zach (and then to all of their grandparents once they arrived).
We still have an entire week left of winter break, after which I know we all will be ready for a consistent routine. But for now, we’re enjoying sleeping in, lounging around the house, playdates, and breaking in all the new toys.
May your weekend be filled with good health, good times, and lots of naps — all things I’m wishing for, too!
Awe … the video is beyond priceless! LOVED IT! My heart was smiling the entire time! And, with your sweet voice providing the background music . awesome! Thanks for sharing Rachel. Love reading your blog. Wishing you and your family the best in 2019, and hope we see Mia at Funshop this spring!!
