This holiday season felt like a total whirlwind, and I can hardly believe Christmas is already over. Despite how fast it went, this was one of my favorite Christmases yet for so many reasons.
First and foremost: we were all (mostly) healthy! We’ve all been dealing with runny noses and coughs for the past few weeks, but those were nothing compared to the holiday sickness we were hit with last Christmas. I’m very thankful we were spared the ear infections, sinus infections, and laryngitis this time around.
Now that my kids are a little older, they both had wishlists and high hopes for Santa. Parker wanted LEGO sets and a Nintendo Switch, and Mia Belle wanted an LOL camper and gymnastics equipment.
They both received everything on their lists and then some — a collaborative effort between us and their 3 sets of grandparents. It was so much fun watching them open their presents and get so giddy over everything.
Following the tradition that began last year, I created a video for Zach with the help of the kids. Before recording their interviews for it, we watched last year’s video, and it was so much fun to see how they have grown since then. Here is this year’s video:
After several days of nonstop hosting and socializing, I’m happy to have some downtime at home with the kids so that they can play with all their new toys and I can start getting my house back in order. That’s pretty much what we’ll be doing until they return to school on January 6.
How was your holiday? I hope it was as full of fun, wonder, and excitement as mine was. Next up, New Year’s Eve…I’ll be back before then to wrap up 2019 and share my plans for 2020 (that still feels so crazy to type!).
