Listen & Learn for Toddlers

Listen & Learn for Toddlers Early Childhood Class in Springfield, IL

Listen & Learn for Toddlers is an early childhood music class for children ages 18 months through 3 years old. Led by music therapist Janel Metzger, this class allows for toddlers to interact and explore music without their parents or caregivers present. Rachel Rambach will host a social gathering for parents, caregivers, and younger siblings under 18 months while the class is in session.

The Listen & Learn for Toddlers curriculum is comprised of both original and familiar songs that children can start singing along with at the very first class. Activities are designed based on specific goals and objectives. Skills that are addressed through the Listen & Learn curriculum include (but are not limited to) fine and gross motor movement, rhythmic foundations, intonation, peer interaction, turn-taking, and academic concepts. Each 45-minute class combines structured activities (movement, singable stories, group instrument play, etc.) with free time for children to explore various instruments and interact with one another.

As a parent or caregiver, you are invited to bring your younger child(ren) under 18 months for social time and musical free-play in the room next door, hosted by Rachel Rambach and her own little one. This is offered at no additional cost. All families will receive two CDs, one for toddlers comprised of songs from the class, and one for babies.

All classes are held at Music Therapy Connections, located at 1234 Centre West Drive, Springfield, IL 62704.
