23 Days of Gratitude | Day 16 - My MT Crew

For the first 5 years of my career as a music therapist, I could have never imagined that one day I would have other music therapists with whom to consult, work and collaborate. My once-solo practice now includes two of my favorite people ever, and I am honored to call them colleagues.

I have mentioned my business parter and fellow music therapist Katey Kamerad hundreds of times on this blog, because she has been an integral part of my music therapy and business journey. Together we have built Music Therapy Connections into a well-known name in our community, to the point where we now employ an additional full-time music therapist.

Alisabeth first joined us in 2015 as an intern, and after she completed her internship, we hired her in a professional role. She has helped us to expand our music therapy services by taking on contracts with facilities, and she also teaches classes in addition to working with clients and students individually at the studio.

The three of us share a similar work ethic and drive, and are constantly educating each other since we have different interests and specialties within music therapy.

We are spending a LOT of time together this week at AMTA national conference, and it is so much fun to have built-in buddies. Katey, Alisabeth and I make a pretty great team at work, and we are also great friends outside of the office, as well. Having been a loner music therapist for so many years, I feel pretty lucky to have this crew in my life.
